TOGAF is the most widely used enterprise architecture framework, and architecture reviews are central to it. You don't need to adopt all of TOGAF to run reviews the way it intends.
TOGAF describes architecture compliance reviews — structured checks that a solution aligns to the enterprise's architecture, principles and standards. They're how governance is applied to real projects.
Reviews are typically run or overseen by a design authority (or architecture board), which uses the review outcome to approve, approve-with-conditions, or send a design back.
TOGAF is often criticised for heaviness, but the review itself doesn't have to be. A clear checklist, a weighted scorecard and a short report deliver the intent — consistent, evidence-based governance — without the overhead.
